Comcast’s Xumo Play Adds Speedvision as a New Free Streaming Channel

By Kayla Wassell on September 28, 2023

Today, Speedvision launched a new free channel on Xumo Play, Comcast’s ad-supported streaming platform. Gearheads can now watch programming from the network’s lineup of diverse “blue-chip vehicle entertainment.”

“The Speedvision channel on Xumo Play will appeal to millions of auto enthusiasts and car aficionados alike with its unique, original content,” said Stefan Van Engen, vice president of content programming and partnerships at Xumo Play. “Our goal is to delight viewers with the very best premium programming that caters to a wide range of lifestyle interests, and Speedvision is a welcomed addition with its highly entertaining and informative content.”

Speedvision, touted as the network that revved up auto entertainment trends in the 90s, adds to Xumo Play’s growing lineup of channels. The free, ad-supported streaming platform is a joint venture between Comcast and Charter, with Comcast managing the business.

Speedvision returned in October last year with more than 700 hours of “high-octane” programs featuring car build shows, garage content, automotive history, and auctions. Jumping on to Xumo gives the channel a potential new audience to reach.

“Xumo Play is an optimal partner for connecting Speedvision’s genre-defining vehicle entertainment with legions of automotive superfans,” said Robert Scanlon, president and CEO of Speedvision. “In less than a year since launch, Speedvision has gained distribution across many of the biggest FAST (free ad-supported stations) platforms in the industry, and today’s announcement with Xumo Play represents a key milestone in our rapid growth.”

Audiences can catch Graveyard Carz Classics, AmeriCarna, Caffeine and Octane, Radford Reborn, Stacey David’s Gearz, Zero to Sixty, and Two Guys Garage. The channel also hosts several series focusing on a range of mechanical topics, including aviation, boating, and motorcycles.

Along with top-notch automotive content, Speedvision also brings in well-known experts and celebrities, including Wayne Carini, Bill Goldberg, Mark Worman, Stacy David, Ant Anstead, Ray Evernham, Chris Jacobs, Greg Grunberg, and more.

Check out Speedvision’s free channel on Xumo Play to watch live now, or download the app on the Google Play and Apple App Store. The platform hosts hundreds of ad-supported linear and on-demand channels.
